Indian Lake is a 99-acre residential lake and private community located in Denville in Morris County, NJ. There are over 1,000 homes situated around the lake. The Indian Lake Community Club, an organization of approximately 500 households, governs the lake. Membership is required to use the lake and facilities. The lake's water is clean and is used for many recreational activities including swimming, fishing, ice skating, and motor boating. The lake has three sand beaches which are staffed with lifeguards during the summer. Many of the homes in the community are ranches, capes, and bi-levels which are situated on small lots, typically 1/4 acre or less. In recent years, some of the older cottages and lakefront properties have been expaned or knocked-down and replaced with new construction.
