Mendham Township has a total area of 17.9 square miles and has approximately 1,850 housing units. Sections of the Township include Brookside (07926), Ralston, and Washington Valley. There is a mixture of housing from historic homes to $3+ million palatial estate homes. The Township has been ranked as the 17th wealthiest community in the state of NJ. Most homes in the Township have a Mendham (07945) mailing address. However, some homes have a Brookside (07926), Morristown (07960), Far Hills (07931), Chester (07930), or Randolph (07869) mailing address. Housing developments and neighborhoods include: Woodland Lakes, Oak Knoll, Pitney Farms, Skytop Farms, Drakewick, Mountain View, Brookrace, Ascot, Roxiticus Estates, and Roxiticus Valley. Cider Mill, a stone historic gristmill built around 1848, was later used as a distillery which produced Tiger Applejack until prohibition.
Residents can use County Highway 510 for their eastbound commute. The train station in Morristown is located to the east.
Mendham Township students attend Hilltop Elementary School (grades K-4) and Mountain View Middle School (grades 5-8). Mendham Township students attend Mendham Township Elementary School (grades K-4) and Middle School (grades 5-8). Both Mendham Township and Mendham Borough students in grades 9-12 attend West Morris Mendham High School, which is located in Mendham Borough and is part of the West Morris Regional High School District.
