Netcong Borough (07857) is located in Morris County, NJ. The community has approximately 1,050 housing units. The Borough lies on the shores of Lake Musconetcong and was named after the Musconetcong River. Main Street, the heart of the Borough, is a busy commercial zone with small shops and restaurants as well as a train station with service to NYC. The community has a mixture of homes from various time periods including single and multi-family dwellings. Many of the homes built in the early 1900s still exist today. The community also has a number of lakefront homes situated on the shores of Lake Musconetcong.
Netcong has easy access to Interstate 80 for an eastbound commute. U.S. Route 206 runs north-south through the Borough. The community has a train station on the NJ Transit Morristown Line which provides direct service to Hoboken Terminal. Passengers can transfer to another train in Dover for Midtown Direct service to NY Penn Station. At Hoboken Terminal, passengers can switch to the PATH to reach NYC. The NJ Transit Montclair-Boonton Line also passes through the station. Lakeland Bus Lines provides service from Netcong to NY Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown. During rush hour, the bus ride takes about 80 minutes.
Public school students attend Netcong Elementary School (pre-k through 8th grade). High School students (9-12) attend Lenape Valley Regional High School, which serves Netcong and the Sussex County communities of Stanhope and Byram Township.
There are some great recreational facilities an parks located in the Borough which include DiRenzo Park, Dell Avenue, Arbolino Park, Indian Field, and Lake Musconetcong State Park. The borough also holds Netcong Day every year in September. The community is home to the Growing Stage, which is a regional theater.
There is an amazing about of nearby shopping for residents. Netcong has a charming downtown with shops and restaurants. The ITC Crossing is about 5 minutes away in Mount Olive and features large national chain stores and popular restaurants. The Rockaway Townsquare Mall is about 15 minutes away in Rockaway Township and is one of the largest and most modern malls in New Jersey. The Ledgewood Mall and Roxbury Mall are located about 10 minutes away in Roxbury Township.
